We must be exemplary in our conduct,
We must respect and by our conduct
and bearing win the respect of others.



Conduct
Our conduct on duty, in public, or in our relationship with any member of the public, should at all times be exemplary. We must uphold the principles of the SAF Core Values, and should be aware of the honour and responsibilities of being members of the Armed Forces, entitled to wear the Uniform of the Republic and entrusted with the honour of protecting the Nation.
Some Do’s And Don’ts
Do’s
  1. We should be courteous and discreet.
  2. We should be firm and even-tempered in the execution of duty.
  3. We should be punctual.
  4. We should be scrupulously correct in the use of official powers.
  5. We should be honest and trustworthy.
  6. We should be fair and unselfish.
  7. We should take care of our health and abstain from harmful habits.
  8. We should obey promptly the orders of our superior officers.
  9. We should abide by and uphold the laws of our Republic.
Don’ts
  1. We should not frequent places of doubtful repute, such as bars and red-light areas.
  2. We should avoid being familiar with persons of doubtful repute, such as members of secret societies.
  3. We should not be aggressive and get into fights or be abusive and quarrelsome.
  4. We should not spit in public or use coarse language.
  5. We should not litter or damage public places and property or scribble on walls.
  6. We should not insult and disturb women.
  7. We should not be disrespectful to superiors in all services.
  8. We should not be a nuisance to others.
  9. We should not indulge in excessive drinking.
Respect
  1. We respect the principle of freedom, human equality and brotherhood.
  2. We respect law and order and our Constitution.
  3. We respect our fellow citizens – their property, their customs, religions and cultures.
  4. We respect the dignity and worth of every individual citizen.
  5. We respect the interest of the public and the public good.
  6. We respect majority rule and the value of minority opinions.
  7. We respect the beliefs of others.
  8. We respect places of worship and institutions of learning.
  9. We respect people who are courteous and kind.
